ABSENT
This work is documentation from my solo exhibition at Revolve in Asheville, North Carolina. Located in Cotton Mill Studios at 122 Riverside Drive, Revolve is a project space, a gathering place, a working studio for artist Colby Caldwell, and most importantly for me, an idea space. ABSENT was on display from October 8th to October 15th, 2016. Each drawing, created over the duration of a day's business hours, was created by one of four individual robots which activated when vehicular traffic (trains and cars) passed by the space. While there were originally four drawings per date listed, some drawings, sold at the exhibition, are not shown.
All drawings are 2' x 2' graphite on prepared board with MDF framing.
Some more drawings made by these machines will be listed soon. They were created during the "THINGS HAPPENING" exhibition at Western Carolina University Fine Art Museum From March 21st to 31st 2017. When finished documentation those will be listed here.
